Description T-Center St. Marx:
1. DESIGN APPROACH / OVERALL CONCEPT
1.1 Project-related design criteria
Preliminary examination of the location, under consideration of urban planning factors, resulted in the following design criteria:
• Visual link with rear sectors
• Openness of basement levels
• Structured development of elevation
• Connection between Rennweg and development areas
• Integration into context of urban planning
• Consideration of the development of structures in the surrounding areas
• Reaction to cattle halls
1.2 Principle:
The general basis for the design is the organizational layout for companies with large-scale interconnected office structures. The scope and the division of various sectors as well as internal networks form the basis for the organizational structure, which is to be optimized under consideration of local marginal constraints.
Several structural prerequisites for the oblong building site at the edge of Rennweg have already been determined. However, also urban planning concepts for the region are to be included in the development, since they contain essential components of a regional development concept that has already been worked out.
This involves pedestrian flow through the structure of the buildings to create links to the grounds at the rear, the concept of a sectionalized façade along the edge of Rennweg, and a structured development of the elevation.
For high flexibility it should be possible for different sections to be variously layered, grouped and to be gradually settled over time.
Centralized development for the centre is essential.
